Jingzhou is located within 111°150—114°050 E， 29°260—31°370 N. It is situated in the central andsouth of Hubei province, central Jianghan Plain. Yangtze River runs across themunicipal region from the east to the west, a section totaling 483 kilometers.Wuhan is located to the east of Jingzhou, with Yichang to the west, Changde ofHunan province on the south, and Jingmen and Xiangyang on the north. The totalarea of Jingzhou is 14,100km², with plain and lake area taking 78.7%and hilly area 21.1%.
